Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-06-19. This policy explains what GolArena collects, why, and the choices and rights you have.

Who we are

GolArena is the data controller for your account data. For privacy questions, contact privacy@golarena.io or open a ticket in the app.

What we collect

Account data — email, username, display name, and (optionally) phone and country. Age — we store only an 18+ age-verified flag and your country/region for the age gate; we do not retain your date of birth after verification. Your content — betslips you upload, predictions, messages, and favourites. Usage & device — app interactions, device identifiers, and push tokens to deliver notifications. Analytics — only if you consent. We do not collect payment card details; payments are handled by Apple, Google, or our Merchant-of-Record.

How & why we use it (legal bases)

To provide the service and perform our contract with you: run your account, track your bets, deliver alerts, and power AI features. For our legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, and improving the product. With your consent: marketing email, analytics, and personalised ads. To meet legal obligations: age assurance, responsible-gambling controls, and record-keeping. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings.

Sharing & processors

We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract — for example cloud hosting, email/SMS delivery, push notifications, error monitoring, AI processing of your betslip images, advertising (Google AdMob serves ads to free users; the advertising identifier is used only after you consent via the in-app consent flow, and paid ad-free plans show no ads), and payment/merchant-of-record providers. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data where required by law.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.

Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active. On deletion, your personal data is removed promptly; limited anonymised transactional records may be retained for up to 7 years where the law requires (for example tax and anti-fraud). Long-inactive accounts may be anonymised under our retention policy.

Your rights

GDPR (EEA/UK): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Export your data as a JSON archive and delete your account in Settings → Privacy & data. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. CCPA (California): you can know, access, and delete your data, and opt out of any sharing via the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" toggle in Settings. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Cookies & ads

Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure. Analytics and advertising load only after you consent via the cookie banner, and you can change your choice anytime. For free users, ads appear only on gambling-free surfaces; paid plans are ad-free.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and regulators of a qualifying breach as the law requires.

Children

GolArena is strictly 18+ and not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
